About Rincon Gold Products

Simply the Best Tasting ..is Half the Story...Highest Omega 3 Content as well..We sell only Sashimi Grade, Pole and Line or Troll-Caught, Premium Albacore Tuna.  No water or vegetable oil has been added.  Our cans contain a hand filleted, hand packed solid piece of young albacore tuna with only a pinch of salt.  Pop top cans make it easy to serve.  The liquid you find in the can is the natural juices from the tuna because it has been cooked in the can.  DO NOT DRAIN these juices.  Simply stir them back into the fish in order to benefit from the highest amount of Omega 3 per serving (2200mg!) for a total of 7700 per can!  (Compare that with the 450mg of most major brands.)

Caught Young.. Our Tuna has Minimal to No Mercury Traces...Rincon Gold tuna has no fishy taste or smell.  It is simply the best tasting tuna on the market.  Our tuna is very low in sodium and has an extremely small amount of mercury.  It has the lowest level of mercury when compared to the major brand tunas on the market. Our tuna has been tested for mercury content and was 0.07ppm (minimal trace level), making it the lowest, if not one if the lowest levels in the industry.  This is because our tuna is caught in the cold waters of the Northern Pacific Ocean, close to the surface.  We catch the younger fish swimming near the surface (2-4 years old and averaging 15 pounds); the younger the tuna, the lower the mercury levels.  Our fish are caught one at a time on a pole and short line with one hook.

Montery Bay Aquarium Approved Fishing... One Fish at a Time... With Ocean Conservation In Mind...Our fishing method is endorsed by Monterey Bay Aquarium as a sustainable method of fishing.  We do not catch any ocean life on our lines, other than the albacore.  Our fishermen all belong to the American Albacore Fishing Association (AAFA), a non-profit corporation formed to represent the American “troll and bait troll” commercial fishing vessels engaged in the harvest of albacore tuna.  It represents 17 vessels which account for more than 20% of the total albacore catch from the US west coast fishery.  The albacore troll fishery harvests albacore using barbless hooks- the fish are landed one at time by hand.  No nets are used in the fishery.  Certification by the Marine Stewardship Council, which recognizes the catch methods of the albacore troll fisheries, allows consumers to make an informed choice that benefits the environment.  Conservation of our ocean resources is a choice and these fishermen are committed to this selective method of harvest to prevent overexploiting this resource.
